How would you improve Vaultoro

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Auto logout after inactivity

Most every secure website ends the login session after a certain time of inactivity, but I noticed vaultoro doesn't do this. I think the site could be made more secure by having the session end automatically after inactivity for, say 20 minutes.

  2. NEVER support altcoins (shapeshift is fine). Never support fiat/local currencies. And never add more metals (PERHAPS silver...)

I’m making this suggestion so that the Vaultoro team can see how many of us DO NOT follow the uneducated cries of everyone asking for these things. Some people just want choices for the sake of choices or because they think a certain currency is cool right now. If you agree and DON’T WANT VAULTORO TO CONSIDER IMPLEMENTING THESE, throw a vote here and let your voice be heard!

This is not what this platform was created for and it would damage Vaultoro to cave to these whims.

Shapeshift provides all the necessary ability to pay into a user’s Vaultoro…

  4. Offer an option to sell the gold on an gold exchange

For me the biggest advantage of vaultoro is the no-limits on btc withdraws. However, currently the trade volume is limited by the low number of market participants on this exchange. Trading 2 kg gold could sometimes move the price up or down by 10% whereas on a big exchange it even won't be visible in the chart.

So while our gold is save here, this limit in trading volume makes it hard to get the value out of vaultoro if needed for another investment.

Further, what happens if BTC crashes completely and there will be no trading volume at all?…

  5. Support for the FIDO U2F protocol when logging into Steam

Support for the FIDO U2F protocol when logging into Steam

Implement support for the FIDO universal two factor protocol when logging into Steam. While it requires that the end user buys a compatible authenticator (like the YubiKey), it is safer, easier and simpler than steam guard. It is an open protocol supported by companies like Google & Facebook and is supposedly fairly straightforward to implement.

  6. For the BCC hard fork, you should offer current account holders to split their coins and give them the BCC .

Your announcement this morning that Vaultoro will only support one coin in the event of the August 1 hard fork of ABC to Bitcoin Cash has already begun to produce the predictable result - a run on Vaultoro Bitcoin.

I also will want to remove mine.

It would be wiser if vaultoro will promise to split the coins, and give the users both coins after the fork. If you cannot do this we all will have to withdraw all our bitcoin in order to split it ourselves in our own wallets.

    Hope this makes sense.

  7. offer an option to transfer gold from a Vaultoro-held ProAurum account to a customer-held ProAurum account

Offer an option to transfer the gold - or parts of it - which Vaultoro holds on a customer's behalf to a ProAurum account held by this customer. By this, the delivery option would be simplified for both the customer and Vaultoro as the gold would not leave the ProAurum vault reducing the paper work for Vaultoro significantly. I regard anything of up to 10% as fee - based on the value transfered - as acceptable (to be divided between proAurum and Vaultoro).

  9. Provide more information on why you don't want altcoins to be suggested.

Perhaps there'd be too many. In that case, why not identify some that you're comfortable supporting and let the users vote for them.

  13. Collaborate with other Bullion Vaults to Launch "Gold Coin" Blockchain

Collaborate with other Bullion Vaults & Launch a "Gold Coin" Blockchain where 1 Gold Coin = 1gram Gold stored in a Registered Vault.
    Advantages are:
    * Will be boomtime for Registered Vaults.
    * No Bitcoin-type Mining required - less costs (only storage & auditing) & therefore lower fees possible
    * Based on something 'real' & 'physical'
    * All other advantages of cryptocurrrencies will be valid.

  14. I have a strong request for Vaultoro!

    1. I think you(Vaultoro)should store at least 90% of the total amount of the costomer's bitcoin holdings at Cold(Paper)Storges.
I found that you store only small portions of the total amount at cold storage, which makes me suspicious about you. Why do you not follow your rules set forth by yourself?
Are you not utilizing some of the customer's bitcoins for other investments or trading? Why makes me wonder all about this?

2.This Cold Storage's Public Key must not be,in any case, exposed to the internet. Which means that you should use them only for receivings not for sendings. When you need…

  16. Use Valcambi Combibars for Delivery

I find the Valcambi concept a good method of precious metal packaging for many reasons: ease of visible accountability, ease of shipping, ease of storage upon delivery, ease of exchange should gold reach a real market value, and on and on.

Adoption of the Valcambi would solve many Vaultoro investors' concerns regarding minimum delivery quantity.

As it is, you'll never know how much of a market you're missing because people get spooked by the current delivery policy. One would imagine Vaultoro would capture good profits of even the small orders and low volumes multiplied by an increased user base -…

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I get what you are saying. The delivery regarding bar size is not that much of a problem as the delivery process itself. Dealing with different countries customs etc and the costs of delivery just does not make sense if its 100g or less.

We are currently working on a system where we partner with local dealers to facilitate easier and faster delivery. That way also bar size does not matter.

  17. Have separate maker/taker fees. 0.5% is fairly high. Change to 0.2%/0.4% maker/taker. Or lower.

Most exchanges charge lower fees for limit orders that add liquidity to the order book. Bitmex even gives a 0.25% rebate for limit orders, instead of charging a fee. I understand that Vaultoro provides a unique service so higher fees are justified, but 0.5% is pretty high.

I definitely suggest changing to some form of maker/taker fee model, where the maker pays half the fee of the taker. So 0.2%/0.4%, 0.15%/0.3%, etc.

This will add liquidity and encourage more transactions, as fees would be lower overall.

  18. Need a way to get smaller amounts delivered because most people will never have 100 g

The need for small amounts delivered because the average person is never going to have 100 g of gold. Now if it was transferable to silver or copper so that the amount delivered could be met then that would be nice. As it is I may just have to turn my bit of gold back into bitcoin & withdraw everything & cut my loss. I will have to warn people about the minimum amount for delivery. Too bad I was really excited now I'm bummed

  19. buy gold in person

a great idea for security will be to allow investors to buy gold in person at a Proaurum facility paying with bitcoin, and get a certificate of safe storage

  20. Provide CSV Transaction Reports for Financial Planning Software Importing for Cost Basis Analysis

I recommend that Vaultoro provide Wallet and Gold Account monthly Transaction Reports in CSV format for Money Management Importing for calculating cost basis for taxes. If the CSV has the proper fields for date, amount, cost, total, fees, etc., customers could import this data into financial planning software such as Quicken and Money. There are tools that convert CSV to QIF format to allow importing into these tools. This would allow for cost basis reporting. Currently, those that are attempting to calculate cost basis for taxes must do this by hand from Vaultoro PDF reports.
